One morning in early December one of our clients found that her cat had unfortunately and sadly passed away during the night. The cat had been ill for some time but her passing was extremely unexpected.
The client’s boyfriend knew of her love for cats, and decided, as a Christmas present to surprise her with a kitten to help her recover from the loss of the pet she had loved so dearly and to give a kitten a home full of love.
He didn’t know how exactly to go about finding a kitten to adopt so close to Christmas so he sought the help of Melissa, one of our senior technicians. He hoped she could help him find a kitten to surprise his girlfriend with on Christmas day. Melissa worked her network of Animal Shelters, local pet stores, and cat lovers. She heard of a family that had recently had a litter and may have a few still available. She stopped by after work, and found 4 kittens. Based on what she knew of the client and what the boyfriend had told her, Melissa chose one, a little white kitten with a black smudge on his forehead.
The kitten was brought back to Ferguson Animal Hospital
On Christmas Eve, much to the disappointment of the staff, who had fallen in love with the kitten. The boyfriend picked up the kitten and surprised his girlfriend on Christmas with a perfect bundle of joy!
So for this past Christmas, Melissa helped out Santa Claus by matching a cute kitten with a client.
